# Roles & permissions

> How brand and account scopes work, and what Admins, Operators, and Viewers can do.

Continuum settings are split into two scopes, and each teammate has a role that sets what they can do.

## Brand scope vs. account scope

* **Brand scope** — settings for the active brand: its activation checklist, general identity and members, brand book, skills, integrations, knowledge base, and billing.
* **Account scope** — settings for you as a user: your profile, personal provider connections, activity, and the brands you belong to.

## Roles

When you invite a teammate, you assign a role:

| Role | Broadly can |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Admin** | Manage the brand end to end, including members and billing. |
| **Operator** | Do the day-to-day work — create, generate, and publish. |
| **Viewer** | View the brand's work without making changes. |

<Info>The exact capabilities for each role are shown in the in-app role legend under **Settings → General**.</Info>

## Managing your team

Invite teammates and set their roles from **Settings → General**, or during [onboarding](/quickstart). You can change a member's role or remove them later from the same place.
